Prof. Samuel Nyholm

Samuel Nyholm is a Swedish graphic designer and illustrator. Formerly part of the the Swedish graphic design studio Reala. Sometimes works under the alias SANY.

Selection of clients and collaborators include Tate Etc., Cornel Windlin, Kunsthalle St Gallen, Svenska Filminstitutet, Vitra, Dagen Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Die Zeit, der Spiegel and others.

In 2012 he was appointed the Professor of Illustration in HfK, Bremen. He is a frequent guest tutor and critic at various art schools like Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, Werkplaats Typography in Arnhem and ESAD in Strasbourg. Between 2007-2009 teacher in graphic design at ECAL in Lausanne.

Born in Lund, south Sweden, lives in Stockholm and Bremen. Special interests: empiricism, incompleteness, Russel Hoban, Düsseldorf, danish cartoons, Zelda and telephones.

Fractal mania

Every day at a few minutes past midnight (local Wisconsin time), a new fractal is automatically posted using a variation of the program included with the book Strange Attractors: Creating Patterns in Chaos byJulien C. Sprott. Please be aware, however, that today’s fractal is from August 1996.

The from Aleph to Eternity website was completed the 27th of May 2014, by Balkan’s meanest code crunchers: Marijana Radovic and Ivan “idratherdance” Jevic. Since they play with marked cards up their sleeves, you can expect some outrageous updates within shortly.

Prof. Tania Prill

Born in Hamburg, lives and works in Zurich. Studies in Visual Communication at the University of Fine Arts Bremen, Germany and at the School of Art and Design Zurich. 2005 Executive Master: Design | Art + Innovation, School of Art and Design Basel. Together with Alberto Vieceli and Sebastian Cremers runs the “Prill Vieceli Cremers“ design studio in Zurich. Currently teaches at the universities of Lucerne, Berne and Zurich. 2004 Visiting Professor, 2006 Professor of Communication Design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe. Since 2010 Professor of Typography at the University of the Arts Bremen.

 

2015:
Lectures and workshops at the HEAR, Strasbourg; Ensba Lyon and OTIS MFA, Los Angeles.
